Laying it Down

When “The Boss” (our resident poker guru) took me aside and told me that we were basing an entire series of poker tournaments around the Tour de France… I was a bit sceptical.

But after he’d unleashed his plan – I saw he had a very valid point.

They both involve stamina, endurance, precision, skill… and a little bit of luck.

And you’re going to need all of the above as we roll out the biggest selection of online tournaments the world has ever seen.

On each Tour de France race day there will be a different tournament… we’ll get to what they are in a minute. Before we do, you need to ask yourself if you’ve got what it takes to hack it in the big leagues?

Getting Down to Business

Finish in the top five of any tournament and get free entry into the next…

But beware – at the start of the next tournament we’re putting a €5 bounty on your head… so players will be gunning for you – and only the strong will survive.

There are two main types of tournament and a special Time Trial to take part in – each corresponding to the different stages of the Tour de France. And on the rest days… we’re planning to throw free cash at you.

Here’s how it’s going to work:

The Tournaments

Mountain Stages

Details:

Start – 19.00 CET
Type – €3 + 30 Deep Stack Tournament
Already in the pot – €50
Blinds – 5 minutes
Starting Chips – 3,000
Rebuys – Unlimited for the first hour
Add ons – 1 after the first hour

Flat Stages

Details:

Start – 19.00 CET
Type – €3 + 30 Turbo Tournament
Already in the pot – €50
Blinds – 3 minutes
Starting Chips – 1,500
Rebuys – Unlimited for the first hour
Add ons – 1 after the first hour

Time Trial

Details:

Play any tournament in the Lobby you like on a Time Trial day. The first player to win a total of €300, using a buy in of no greater than €20 wins €100.

Rest Day

Details:

We’ll give you a special chance to reload your stack and claim a mountain of free cash. In fact we’ll give you a 100% reload bonus up to €750… what’s more, we’ll pay you out incrementally in €10 chunks – so you won’t have to wait around for your payouts.

Team Entry

Details:

Got friends who are new players at Betway?

Why not recruit them and form your own Poker team?

As long as your rookie team members made their first deposits on or after May 1st 2010 – you can build up team points and claim the team prize.

Simply email support with the name of your team and usernames of your teammates and they’ll set it up.

You need at least five players… but there is no maximum – and make sure you mention Tour of Poker in the subject line.
