How to read CFL odds

When betting on the CFL, understanding the different odds formats is key to making informed decisions. At Betway, you’ll typically see decimal or fractional odds.

• Decimal odds show your total return per $1 staked, including your original bet. For example, odds of 3.00 mean a $10 bet would return $30. Learn more with decimal odds explained.
• Fractional odds, such as 2/1, indicate the profit relative to your stake - so a $10 bet at 2/1 would return $20 profit plus your stake.

Common types of CFL bets

Under/over points

If you prefer a simple bet with a bit of a twist, over/under points might be the market for you. The sportsbook will set a total number of points for both teams combined to score throughout the game and you decide whether you think they’ll score greater or fewer points than that line.

For example, if the line is 7.5 and you wager on the over, you’re betting that both teams combined will score at least 8 points in the game. If you bet on the under, you’re betting that both teams combined will score 7 or fewer points.

This can be the ideal bet if you’re not overly invested in a particular team in the game, or if you prefer the tactics and strategy of betting on the overall game dynamics.

Touchdowns

You can also choose from various markets based on the number of touchdowns throughout the game – for example, you could bet on who will score the first touchdown, whether the first touchdown-scorer will take the game or how many touchdowns a player or team will score throughout the game.
